Lindsey: Past, present and future

Lindsey E. Vuolo is famous for her sultry looks but once you get to know her, you realize that she's also highly intelligent, ambitious, independent, fun-loving and has a tremendously positive outlook on life.

So could she be the perfect woman?

Lindsey was born in New Jersey and lived in Princeton until the sixth grade, when her family moved to Yardley, Pennsylvania.  "I was a dancer for eight years, and I also took gymnastics until I was 10. Sometimes I played a little soccer and softball, too. It was usually pretty funny to watch, because I was afraid of the ball and I didn't want to get dirty. My dad has done a lot with me outdoors -- fishing, hunting, etc. -- while my mom and I would do crafts at home. I was not a great player but I loved to get out there and do it. I'm not very competitive because when you compete for something, it's like fighting for it. I try to stay away from tension and arguments, things like that. I say if you want to win, “fine, you won. You obviously needed an occasion to be better than me at it."

Lindsey has many memories of summers spent in Westport, Canada. Her father has since purchased a fishing resort there.  "I love spending time there," she said. "My family and I always go fishing, and it gives me a chance to be a tomboy. I love doing everything from camping to water-skiing there, and, of course, shopping."  Her free-spirited attitude evolved from the parenting style of her mother and father. Her father converted to Judaism to marry Lindsey's mother. Their children are a mix of Russian, German, Hungarian and Italian. The family includes Mitchell, 16, and Evan, 15.

"I had a great childhood. I got to do so many things. My parents always told me to try something new whether it be a sport or a food. My mom especially pushed me, and I definitely think that molded me a lot. If I didn't like it, I didn't like it. I told my mom that I hated brussel sprouts. She made me realize the last time I even tasted brussel sprouts was as a child. I tried it again and liked it. Mom is always right. It's scary but true. I say to my friends a lot 'culture yourself' because I don't think people give things enough of a shot. They're so quick to jump to a stereotype or conclusion," she said.

"My mom molded me to be strong. My parents are happily married but my dad was away a lot so I saw my mom take care of my brothers and myself while really striving as a businesswoman. She sacrificed a lot for us. My friends say she is so cool. My boyfriend asked her what she wanted for Mother's Day and she said she just wanted my brothers to win their hockey game. It was so genuine. She is such a good person."

Lindsey loves watching her two younger brothers play hockey. Since her brothers are considerably younger than her, she has been able to re-experience things that she might have taken for granted when she was their age, but can relive those moments through them. Although they were too young to actually see the publication, they got quite a bit of attention at school and from their friends, because of her celebrity status around town.

Lindsey tries to balance her sisterly role of being the cool big sister, while still trying to warn them about things that all teenagers are going to try and do, but we all know are destructive. She is helping to teach her brother to drive, and often runs them around when she is available.

Other members of her family include two four-legged siblings, her chihuahua Diesel, who she said is a big part of her life, and her family Lab, Haley.  "They are so much to watch together, with their size disparity and personalities. Lindsey decided to get a dog, after her parents forbid her to purchase a motorcycle. Once again, she's glad she went with the dog.
